I think I already know the answer to this but I want to buy a rental property. I am 19 and a college student will graduate in 2024. My school is paid for by my parents (super grateful for that) I currently have 12 thousand in a taxable brokerage account and 9000 in an IRA and 15,000 in my savings/checkings. I was looking around a 50-60 thousand dollar move in ready where I could purchase and put it up for rent very shortly I would probably put around 10,000 down. I have a steady job full time in the summers and part time during school.

When do you feel like you are ready to retire? In this day and age, I feel like even if you reached the everyday millionaire status, you will not be able to retire if you still have mortgage left, your funds are mostly tied in your home equity or 401k, etc.
